Writing
Drafts and version history
Edit in private, publish when you're ready, roll back any page.
Editing and publishing are separate steps. Readers only ever see what you published.
Drafts#
Your edits save automatically as a draft. The editor header says where a page stands, for example "Changes not live ยท published 5d ago", and the sidebar marks pages as draft (never published) or changed (published, with edits since).
A page that's never been published doesn't exist for readers: its URL returns a 404 and it's left out of search.
Publishing#
Choose Publish in the editor header to put a page live. To publish everything at once, use Publish all under Needs you on the doc space overview.
The title, icon and description aren't drafted. They go live as soon as you save them.
History#
Every publish is kept as a version. Open History in the editor header to see them, and Restore to load an old version back as a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish it again. DocSpell keeps the latest 50 versions of each page.
