Keeping docs current
Find the pages your code changes left behind, then regenerate just those.
Docs go stale because nobody notices the code changed. DocSpell notices.
How it knows#
Every generated page remembers the files it was written from, and the git hash of each one at the time. When you open a doc space's overview, DocSpell makes one GitHub call for the whole space and compares those hashes with the repo as it is now.
Any page whose files changed, moved, or were deleted shows up under Needs you, with the files that drifted.
Regenerate a page#
Each out-of-date page has a Regenerate button. It rewrites that one page from its current files, with the doc space's saved settings, and leaves every other page alone. The new version arrives as a draft, so you can compare and edit before it goes live.
Regenerating a page doesn't use up a generation. It's available on paid plans.
Pages you wrote yourself#
Pages you created by hand have no source files, so they're never flagged. Editing a generated page doesn't stop it being tracked: if its files change later, it's still listed.
