Branding
Logo, accent colour, navbar, footer, and your own CSS.
Logo#
Upload a logo in the doc space's settings. It shows in the header and doubles as the favicon. This site uses DocSpell's own.
Accent colour#
In Customize, pick any colour for links and highlights. DocSpell keeps the hue and adjusts the shade until links pass 4.5:1 contrast on both the light and the dark page, so nobody ships unreadable docs by accident. The preview beside the controls shows your site with the new colour before you save.
Navbar and footer#
Add up to six links to the right of the search bar, like your GitHub, your app or a status page. The footer takes your own text and links. Links must start with https://, http://, mailto:, / or #.
Custom CSS#
For anything else, add CSS. Target the stable ds- classes; they won't change between redesigns.
| Class | Element |
|---|---|
ds-header | Top bar |
ds-sidebar | Page list |
ds-article | The page |
ds-prose | Page content |
ds-toc | On this page |
ds-footer | Footer |
ds-search | Search dialog |
.ds-prose h2 {
letter-spacing: -0.01em;
}Powered by DocSpell#
Free docs show a small "Powered by DocSpell" line. Paid plans can hide it.
The logo works on every plan. Accent colour, links and custom CSS are on paid plans.
